Diego Alvarez de Lorenzana
Co-President
Diego graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and African Studies. He joined the CLG to expand his knowledge of how competition law impacts Canadian citizens and consumers and to better understand how law regulates market forces.
Kristen Nessim
Co-President
Kristen completed her undergraduate degree at the Ivey Business School, where she developed an interest in market regulation and corporate strategy. She joined the Competition Law Group to explore how competition law shapes business practices and promotes fair, efficient markets.

Chris Mao
VP of Internals
Chris completed his undergraduate degree in Economics at Emory University, where he discovered his enthusiasm for antitrust and competition policy. He hopes to carry this passion into law, exploring how law and economics intersect to promote efficiency and protect consumers.
Arjun Thayaparan
VP of Moot
Arjun graduated from McMaster University with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Justice, Political Philosophy, and Law. Arjun competed in the 1L Competition Moot in his first year at Jackman Law and looks forward to continuing the moot’s success as one of the 2026-2027 Vice Presidents of Moot at CLG.
Ema Radovanovic
VP of Marketing
Ema is a 2L at Jackman Law and graduated as the Gold Medalist from TMU’s Law and Business Program. She is especially interested in the intersection of competition and intellectual property law, which she is currently studying in her coursework. As VP of Marketing, Ema applies her creativity and passion for graphic design to support the Competition Law Group.
Antara Patel
VP of Events
Antara holds a degree in Political Science from McMaster University, where she specialized in Public Law and Judicial Studies and completed a minor in Business. She joined the CLG to pursue her interest in the intersection of intellectual property and competition law, while gaining a broader understanding of competition law and exploring its potential as an area of future practice.
Manon Melkonyan
VP of Moot
Manon holds a Bachelor of International Economics degree from the University of British Columbia. She has a particular research interest in monopoly behaviour, market regulation, and business law that inspires her involvement with the Competition Law Group.
Sihan Su
VP of Events
Sihan holds a degree in Business Administration from Ivey Business School and went on to complete a law clerk diploma from Fanshawe College. She is passionate about fair competition and market regulation, and eager to explore how competition law influences corporate strategy.
Justin Harms
VP of Events
Originally from Winnipeg, Justin completed a dual degree at the Ivey Business School, combining an HBA with an Honours Specialization in Spanish. Coming from a business background, he's interested in how competition law shapes the way companies grow, merge, and compete.
Brendan Younker-Tsaltas
VP of Finance
Brendan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University. He joined the CLG to deepen his understanding of how competition law shapes financial markets and corporate strategy, and to explore it as a potential area of future practice.
Elva Wu
VP of Marketing
Elva graduated from the University of Toronto with a specialist in Financial Economics and a major in Statistics and is now pursuing the combined JD/MA in Economics program. Her economics research on firms’ competitive strategies sparked her interest in how legal rules shape markets and business decisions. She joined the CLG to explore competition law as a potential area of practice and help make the field more approachable to other law students.
Jonah Sutherns
VP of Publications
Jonah completed his undergrad at UBC Okanagan in political science, philosophy, and economics. His interest in competition law stems from a background passion for understanding markets, regulation, and economic incentivization, and how each of these intersects with our legal system.
Atlas Wu
VP of Publications
Atlas holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of British Columbia in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and a Master’s degree from the University of Toronto in Political Science. He previously worked at the Commerce & Finance Law Offices and the Royal Bank of Canada on capital market due diligence. He was inspired to join CLG to deepen his interest in market competition and regulation.
Mishael Abu-Samhan
VP of Publications
Mishael completed his undergraduate degree in Honours Philosophy and Political Science at Simon Fraser University. He was inspired to join CLG to learn about competition law, transactional work, and corporate governance.
